Window Communications Ltd.
Window Communications Ltd. is a series of mixed media artworks, the title and content is partly inspired by a telemarketing department within a commercial window cleaning company. The work explores observations of a turbulent rhizomatic universe, sinking pink ships of colonial figures rest at the bottom of the sea, inspired by the assassination of Lord Mountbatten whilst out on his fishing boat ‘Shadow V’ and the colour ‘Mountbatten Pink’ which was used unsuccessfully to disguise ships at dawn. In a world full of ever watching panoptic objects, the work employs fragmented visual language and scattered narratives to explore a variety of experiential melancholic surveillance of modern living and the colourful characters that emerge from all of its clunk.
Inactive souls fester within liminal spaces, burdened albatross, attempting to find nests, navigate stormy skies. Panoptic lighthouses form shadows, beneath the darkness of gloomy nautical scenes, disintegrating lamp posts beam dim streams of colour onto the streets of a chaotic world at unease with its identity.
Dispersed timelines of existence, futility and searching minds collide amongst storms. Silhouettes of Call Centre personas, in their sterile stuck-ness, stare out of windows, lost in imaginary conversation with tulpas, dreaming of grand escapes, ultimately sinking in Lord Mountbatten’s pink ships.
